As the flagship for the Acura Division, the Acura RL is one of the most sophisticated touring sedans on the road, blending smooth power and responsive handling with cutting-edge technologies and luxurious appointments. A 290 hp 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the RL, and is paired to a five-speed automatic transmission with SportShift manual mode and paddle shifters; Acura's exclusive Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system enhances grip, stability and all-weather control. The RL is outfitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights and a power moonroof; interior comforts include heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, satellite radio and HandsFreeLink (Bluetooth) wireless connectivity. Standard safety features include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, front side-impact airbags and overhead curtain airbags. The available Technology package includes a navigation system with voice activation, integrated rearview camera parking assist and real-time traffic information, and an Active Front Lighting System (AFS). Additional available high-tech equipment includes a Michelin PAX run-flat tire system, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and a Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). The 2008 Acura RL is a carryover from 2007.
