The Porsche Boxster is a two-passenger convertible reminiscent of the renowned Porsche 550. The Boxster comes in two trims: the Base and the S with both trims having a Limited Edition model as well. The Base is powered by a 245 hp 2.7-liter flat six-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. A Tiptronic S five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission found in the Sport Package are optional. The S is powered by a 295 hp 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual or an optional Tiptronic S five-speed automatic transmission.. Standard safety features on all trims include: Porsche Stability Management (PSM), four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, front and side seat-mounted airbags with a curtain airbag for head protection and a fixed roll-over protection bars. For 2008, a Limited Edition Porsche Boxster - largely inspired by the 911 GT3 RS - is available and features a dual-tip sport exhaust, an orange finish and black wheels.
