This car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale.
The GMC Sierra 2500 HD is the more powerfully equipped version of the Sierra 2500. Available only as a Crew Cab with a 6-foot-6-inch bed, the 2500HD hauls 3,293 pounds with two-wheel drive, 3,639 pounds with four-wheel drive, and tows 15,300 pounds. Power is provided by the same 8.1-liter V-8 that is available in the Sierra 3500. Because of its short bed, the 2500HD rides more smoothly than the other heavy-duty trucks. A five-speed manual, an Allison 5 speed automatic, or a four-speed automatic transmission is offered. Standard features include ABS, air conditioning, cruise control, AM/FM/CD audio, an attractive chrome grille molding, a chrome rear step bumper, and 17-inch chromed steel wheels. Changes for 2006 are minimal.
